 Ad Operations Associate – GroupM Nexus   

As Ad Operations Associate you will be contributing to a dynamic Ad Operations team at GroupM Nexus responsible for implementation and deployment of measures required for successful campaign delivery.  You will work collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and clients to ensure optimal strategy and deployment of digital advertising tags to support data collection required for campaign performance and insights. This role reports to Ad Operations Lead or Supervisor and will support a centralized team of Ad Ops practitioners that support GroupM Canada agencies, Mindshare, EssenceMediacom and Wavemaker.

 

As part of the Ad Operations team, you will work with experts from all digital media disciplines including planning, buying, programmatic, search, social and beyond. There are opportunities to advance many skills in a broad range of situations. 

Key Responsibilities


Strategy and Setup: 

  • Traffic in Ad Server (Google CM360) including generating and testing ad tags and managing any campaign changes (display, in-stream video, 1x1 trackers, etc.) 
  • Collaborate with clients, agency, and creative teams to understand campaign objectives and support conversation around strategy recommendations  
  • Use tag management system (Google Tag Manager) to efficiently implement tags across client websites in alignment with campaign goals and requirements 
  • Take leading role as a subject matter expert in tech calls with clients, site teams, and agency teams to provide intelligent and efficient recommendations for strategy and deployment
  • Own designated platform seats and manage user profiles and levels of access 

Quality Assurance: 

  • Complete QA and testing of tagging applied to client website to validate proper tag functionality, troubleshoot and resolve any issues and make any necessary optimizations 
  • Support process of peer-review QA on identified complex requests 
  • Monitor ongoing delivery and usage across tags issued to flag potential implementation errors 
  • Ensure up-to-date compliance with all regulations, policies, industry standards and best practices and maintain extensive knowledge base 
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to quickly resolve technical issues

Internal Coordination and Management: 

  • Work with our media teams to ensure efficient campaign setup and best practices for trafficking, site tagging, accurate reporting, and fulfillment of campaign requirements 
  • Create and/or improve process documentation guides, presentations, and onboarding materials for both internal and external training and development 
  • Educate colleagues across the agency group to ensure working knowledge of concepts are understood and best practices are followed 
  • Additional projects and tasks supporting the growth and development of the Ad Operations team where required 
  • Effectively communicate technical/product information and explanations to a non-technical audience
